Nook Tablet now available in 8GB version, priced at $199
Barnes & Noble
Watch out, Amazon! Barnes & Noble has just announced an 8GB version of its Nook Tablet and priced it at $199 — which makes it very dangerous competition for the similarly-priced Kindle Fire.
The new Nook Tablet is essentially the same as its older sibling, except with less on-board storage and a lower price (the 16GB Nook Tablet will set you back $249). It has 512MB of RAM, a 1GHz dual-core processor, a microSD slot so that you can expand its storage, a 7-inch color touchscreen and access to the Nook Cloud service.
And as if all that's not enough to make Amazon's Tuesday gloomy, Barnes & Noble has also dropped the price of the Nook Color to $169.
