Free texts on Google Voice

The latest update to Google Voice ensures that even in places where your phone won't get data coverage, you will be able to retrieve your voicemail.

Available as of yesterday, the update to the free app found in the Android Market includes this nifty upgrade, which will no doubt please anyone who's ever had the frustration of not being able to get to those messages out of data coverage range. You'll also be able to send more than one person the same text (way more convenient than having to copy and paste to everyone on your list!).

Also included in the Nov.15 update: improved text notifications.

Google Voice is available only in the U.S. and is in the 5-10 million installation range. Those millions use it to make cheap international calls, to see transcriptions of their voice messages and text for free. It's available on Android, BlackBerry and iPhone.
